2022 Fisker Ocean

Fisker has announced the launch of an all-electric SUV in 2021. The 2022 Fisker Ocean luxury vehicle is set to be the first of three in a line of all-electric mainstream vehicles designed by Henrik Fisker and produced in the United States. Later named the Fisker Ocean, it will have a range of “almost 300 miles”, available on the cheaper option. The SUV will be offered in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. Power will be provided by a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of approximately 80 kWh and a roof of solar panels as a range extender, adding approximately 1,000 free miles of range per year. The ultra-high performance version of the Fisker Ocean will be able to go from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 3 seconds, faster than the performance version of the Tesla Model Y.

Advanced electronics include the air conditioning unit, which will be housed under the hood. The SUV will be a sustainable vehicle, using plastic recycled from ocean debris, vegan leather and a solar roof in its premium model specifications, and it will recycle the waste generated during the manufacture of tires for sections of the vehicle. interior, like the trunk. Even the suede used for the interior is recycled from plastic, bottles and T-shirts.

The look of the SUV is "dramatically sculpted" with a "futuristic and sleek muscular look" and "captivating design touches that have traditionally been reserved for supercars." With the push of a button, the roof opens in one way or another to create "an extended open air atmosphere". The vehicle's California mode will open every window and panel with a single button. The fairing includes styling that makes it look like a traditional grille consisting of a small central radar mounted high up behind glass where a parametric pattern dominates the lower front section. Inlets in the corners send cool air to the brakes and other areas. There will be a spacious interior with a large screen and a dashboard with an intuitive user interface. The Fisker Ocean is 182.7 inches long, 76 inches wide and 63.6 inches high, with 20 cubic feet of trunk space.

The prototype was built in Italy by Italdesign. In January 2020, Henrik Fisker said the Fisker Ocean would be sold in Germany, Norway and Sweden in 2022 as the first European markets, before a wider deployment there. More details on the Fisker Ocean were due to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2020. However, the Geneva Motor Show has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the cancellation, it was revealed in a press release that the Fisker Ocean will use a 150 kilowatt Combined Load Standard (CCS) DC rapid charge plug. Fisker now plans to unveil the production version of the Fisker Ocean at the Los Angeles auto show in November 2021. As of May 2021, the company had received more than 16,000 reservations for the Fisker Ocean SUV. In June 2021, Fisker finalized its manufacturing agreement with Magna Steyr, with production on the Fisker Ocean scheduled to begin in November 2022 at Magna's facilities in Graz, Austria.
